Space to Breathe 1
Spaceto Breathe I is an original mixed media artwork, framed and mounted in a black square frame (as pictured). It is inspired by the colours of spring and was painted during the first UK lockdown in 2020. At this time we were in the midst of an abundantly warm and sunny spring when our only space to breathe was during our daily walks in the rural Nottinghamshire countryside nearby.
It is a textural piece with expressive brush strokes and areas of mixed media layers and for me, although a small piece measuring 12x12cm in a 25x25cm frame, it fully captures a sense of space and light and that rare time during an anxious lockdown when out one daily walks I felt I di have some much needed breathing space.
