Open Studio Event 7th and 8th May 2016

So I’m very excited to announce my second Open Studio Event which is taking place this weekend as part of the Open Studio Notts programme. I will be taking part in a local Lowdham Arts Trail along with the Gedling Artists in Lowdham Village Hall, and textile artist Janet Gilbert who will be opening her studio on Main Street in Lowdham.

After last year’s success I couldn’t resist opening my garden gate and studio doors to the public again. There will be lots of cakes (courtesy of Ma Bulmer and husband Steve) as well as some light refreshments, lots of work on display and a couple of this-weekend-only one-off sale items.

We will be open from 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday – if you are in the area or fancy a day out to see some of Nottinghamshire’s creative and artistic talent please do feel free to come along. Full details of can be found here

As well as my signature black and white ink illustrations there will also be a small selection of my new landscape work for sale. This is something I’ve been working on for about 2 years, off and on. In my minds eye I knew what kind of work I wanted to produce but it has taken me a while (and a couple of inspirational ecourses) to get me to where I wanted to be. I’ve found the right combination of materials that give me the right mix of line, colour and texture and I’ve been working away in my sketchbooks for a while now, experimenting, practising, making mistakes, finding out what works and what doesn’t and I’m really pleased with how things are turning out. Who knows where it will take me, but for now, here are a few photos of my sketchbook pages
